Reputation by Sarah Vaughan. (2022).

**3 out of 5 stars**

Reputation: it takes a lifetime to build and just one moment to destroy.
Emma is a respectable MP.
She is a devoted mother.
She is innocent of the murder of a tabloid journalist.
She is a liar.
Reputation: the story you tell about yourself. And the lies others choose to believe…

After enjoying a couple of books previously from this author, I found this one to be a bit average. It’s a pretty slow pace with a lot of focus on the titular ‘reputation’ of the characters, and it did feel repetitive at times. I did appreciate the eye opener on issues that MPs face, particularly the females. The most interesting character is Emma’s teenager daughter, Flora, who is struggling with bullying as well as being fearful for her mother in the public eye.
Overall: worth a go if the synopsis interests you as other readers have really enjoyed this, however I would recommend ‘Anatomy of a Scandal’ or ‘Little Disasters’ by the same author over this one.
