You Are Not Alone by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen. (2020).
**3.5 out of 5 stars**
You probably know someone like Shay. She wants to find love, she wants to be fulfilled and she wants to belong but none of that is happening. Love eludes her, her job is a dead end and she is becoming increasingly isolated. You probably don’t know anyone like the Moore sisters. They have an unbreakable circle of friends, a life of glamour and perfection and always get what they want. Shay thinks she wants their life. But what they really want is hers…
I’m not going to lie, I was slightly disappointed by this story. I loved these authors’ last collaboration (An Anonymous Girl) and this one didn’t live up to that for me. However, I did still enjoy this book and I think a lot of people would get right into it. Character wise, I liked Shay but at the same time I found her quite strange and needy: sometimes her actions didn’t make sense to me. The Moore sisters, Jane and Cassandra, were just a tad unbelievable for me: too beautiful, too intelligent, etc. I did pick a couple of twists and turns throughout the book but the last few big ones were certainly well done; very clever and unexpected.
While I would rate this thriller as average and okay, I think a lot of readers would rate it higher and really enjoy it so it’s definitely worth a read.
