**3.5 out of 5 stars**

Bonnie is on the wrong side of 30 and just wants a happily ever after but keeps picking the wrong guys. When an ex returns to town and she can’t shake her inappropriate feelings, she flees and becomes an unlikely contestant on dating show ‘ The One’. Darcy is a producer on the show and her own love-life with her long-term boyfriend is floundering. She wants a promotion but how can she save their relationship while producing flawless TV? Meanwhile Penelope has relocated to a small seaside town to hide away with her secrets and nurse a broken heart. But she can’t seem to quite escape with ‘The One’ broadcasting everywhere…

This is the debut novel for this author and I think a lot of readers would enjoy it. When I read the synopsis it reminded a bit of an American TV show called UnReal that is a fictional look at behind the scenes of a show similar to The Bachelor, which is the same premise as ‘The One’; except that TV show is quite nasty in parts whereas this book felt nicer and the producers in the book were still manipulative but not psycho like that TV show haha. We swap between the three lead female characters: Bonnie, Darcy and Penelope. All were fairly likeable in my opinion although I couldn’t relate to them a lot in terms of their love life dramas. I have to say that I did find the storylines a tad predictable. Is that a bad thing? Not necessarily. I was looking for a lighter read and this one did fit that for me. If you are looking for a romance with a soap opera feel to it, then this is the book for you.
