The Arrangement by Robyn Harding. (2019).
**4.5 out of 5 stars**
Nat is an art student in New York City struggling to pay her bills. Cue a friend’s suggestion: why not find a sugar daddy who will pay her for dates and possibly a monthly allowance (sexual favours optional). Gabe, a handsome finance attorney, seems perfect and within a month they are in love. At least, Nat is. Gabe has a family already and when he ends things abruptly, Nat can’t let go so begins drinking heavily and stalking Gabe and his family. Their supposedly mutually beneficial arrangement turns into a nightmare of deception, obsession and murder…
If you say that this book didn’t make you ponder for at least a moment what life would be like if you were a sugar baby, I’m going to call you a liar haha! A friend recommended this book to me and I’m glad I listened to the suggestion because I really enjoyed it. I found it to be very entertaining and a fantastic read to just sit and shut out reality for a couple of hours. Nat is likeable, albeit a little crazy…then really crazy. Gabe is your stereotypical older rich man who wants it all, and I found myself really not thinking much of him at all. I did like that some chapters were from Gabe’s point of view so we could fully understand his character’s nature.
I definitely need to delve into this author’s other books because this novel was exactly my type of quality read. Happily recommend this one for sure.
