Give Me Your Hand by Megan Abbott. (2018).
**2.5 out of 5 stars**
Kit is at the top of her profession and only Diane stands in her way. Kit was never driven until she met Diane 12 years ago in high school and their shared ambition made them inseparable. Until Diane shared a secret and it ruined their friendship. And now Diane is back. And she’s learnt something related to Kit that could destroy everything. Diane thinks Kit is like her – completely ambitious.
This one wasn’t really for me, I couldn’t get into it. I found all the characters pretty annoying in one way or another. Kit and Diane are very strong intelligent female leads. However, Kit in particular seems to do some pretty unintelligent actions in my opinion. I found the topic that was being studied in their lab very interesting, I think I would have enjoyed the book more if it was more about that. The book goes between the current timeline and when Kit and Diane were teenagers – it was good to read the history of both the girls and understand more why they are the women they are in the current timeline. With plenty of people enjoying and recommending this book, it’s worth a go to see if you like it if you enjoy thrillers and/or strong intelligent female characters.
